Tooth-Friendly Treats: Sugar-Free Ice Cream Recipe

May 17, 2022

Ice cream. One of the most beloved snacks for the summertime, or if you’re like us, any time of the year! But did you know that the average two scoops/1 cup serving of ice cream yields about 28g of sugar? Once digested, that equals seven teaspoons of sugar!

If you are looking to reduce the amount of sugar in your diet, check out this sugar-free option that is tooth-friendly and delicious!

Note:  Sugar and corn syrup are not used in this recipe, therefore we recommend letting your ice cream sit out and soften before serving and/or storing it in an ice cream freezer storage container. An ice cream maker will absolutely make this process easier, but it’s not required!

What You’ll Need:

  • 2 cups of Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 2 cups Full Fat Milk
  • ¾ cup of Sugar Alternative
  • 2 teaspoons of Vanilla Extract
  • Ice Cream Freezer Storage Container

How to Make:

  1. Place your ice cream freezer storage container in the freezer for at least an hour to get it cold. If you’re using an ice cream maker, skip this step.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, use a whisk to mix all the ingredients together. You can also use a blender for this step.
  3. Transfer the mixture to the cold ice cream freezer storage container. Then, every 30 minutes for the next 2-2 ½ hours, take the mixture out of the freezer and whisk together again, then return back to the freezer. Repeat this step until your ice cream has reached your desired consistency.
