To register the first time

  • Go to www.deltadentalnj.com.
  • Click the "Members" icon on the right side of the screen.
  • At the Benefits Connection Registration Logon box, click on "Register Now."
  • Step 1: Please choose a unique User Name and Password that will identify you when you sign on. The User Name can be any name of your choosing (i.e., "susanna," "ericlee," "janedoe") and must have between seven and ten characters. You must also choose a Password, which must have seven to ten characters. Be sure to select a User Name and Password that you will be able to remember (or keep a note of them in a safe and secure place) so you can log onto Benefits Connection in the future.
  • Step 2: Choose a security question to help us identify you in case you forget your Password. Click on one of the three following questions to answer:
    • What is your pet's name?
    • What is your favorite color?
    • What is your favorite sports team?

    Type in a one-word answer to the question selected (for example, "Jets," not "New York Jets"). You will be asked the security question only if you forget your Password and need it e-mailed to you.

  • Step 3: Choose one of the following registrations. Select "Subscriber," then click "Continue."
  • Step 4: Please enter the following information:
    • ID Number. This is your Delta Dental ID number, the member's nine-digit Social Security number or whatever ID number your group uses to identify you. Do not use hyphens.
    • Last Name.
    • Date of Birth. This is the member's date of birth. Use slashes, not hyphens, to separate month, date and year. Use the MM/DD/YY format (i.e., April 1, 1989 would be entered 04/01/89; December 15, 2000 would be entered 12/15/00.)
    • E-mail address. Be sure to double-check that you entered your e-mail address correctly; otherwise you will not be able to receive your password via e-mail if you later forget it. AOL users, be sure to include "@aol.com" after your screen name (for example, if your AOL screen name is "healthyteeth" your full Internet address would be "healthyteeth@aol.com").
    • Subscribe to Newsletter. By registering for Benefits Connection, you will automatically receive a free monthly electronic newsletter giving you information about your Delta Dental program and oral health information. If you do not wish to receive this newsletter, uncheck this box.
  • Click "Register."

Should both my spouse and I register as users?

For security reasons, the system allows only the primary member to register as a Benefits Connection user. You may allow your spouse to access the information using your User Name and Password. Be aware that we will release password and other information only to the primary member.

If your registration is successful

  • You will see an onscreen notice stating that you have successfully registered to use Benefits Connection.
  • Click "Close" and you will be directed to the Benefits Connection Welcome page.

If your registration is not successful

You will receive an onscreen notification explaining why your registration could not be completed. Frequent causes include:

  • If your name is not in the system. You will be directed to call our Customer Service Department at 800-452-9310.
  • If the system finds an incomplete record for you (for example, your name but no address information). You will be linked to a downloadable Authentication Form, which you should complete and fax to Delta Dental at 973-944-4569.

Once we have received all of the necessary documentation from you, you will be authenticated within two business days. You can retry the registration process at that time.

  • If the User Name you selected was already taken. You will be prompted to select another User Name and returned to the registration page.
  • If you have previously registered for Benefits Connection. You will be notified that the ID Number you entered has already been registered in the system. (For security reasons the system allows only one user per ID Number.)
    • If you remember your User Name and Password, go to the Benefits Connection Logon screen and log on using your User Name and Password.
    • If you have forgotten your User Name, contact Concurrent Technologies' Help Desk at 888-783-5750.
    • If you remember your User Name but not your Password, click on "Forgot Password?" at the bottom of the Benefits Connection Logon screen.

How long does it take for my registration to go into effect?

For security reasons, there will be a 10-day delay for your registration to go into effect.

To log onto Benefits Connection

  • Go to www.deltadentalnj.com.
  • Click the "Members" icon on the right side of the screen.
  • At the Benefits Connection Logon box, click "Logon."
  • An "Enter Network Password" box will pop up. Enter your
    • User Name (the seven to ten-character identifier you selected when you registered the first time, such as "susanna," "ericlee," "janedoe").
    • Password (the seven to ten-character password selected when you registered.)
  • Click "Logon."
  • If you logged in correctly, you will go directly to your Benefits Connection Welcome page. Use this page to connect you to the following information about your benefits:
    • Eligibility/COB
    • Benefit Levels
    • Deductibles
    • Age Limitations
    • Frequency Schedule
    • Maximums
    • Procedure Code Search
  • If you entered an incorrect User Name or Password, you will be prompted to try again.

What if I forget my User Name?

If you forget your User Name, contact Concurrent Technologies' Help Desk at 888-783-5750.

What is the difference between my "User Name" and my "ID Number"?

The User Name is a seven to ten-character identifier that you select yourself (such as "susanna," "ericlee," or "janedoe") when you registered with Benefits Connection the first time. You must enter your User Name and Password each time you log onto Benefits Connection. Your ID Number is the nine-digit number that the group uses to identify you (usually the member's Social Security number). You will be asked to provide your ID Number only when you register with Benefits Connection the first time or if you have forgotten your Password.

What if I forget my Password?

  • Click on "Forgot Password" at the bottom of the Benefits Connection Logon box.
  • Step 1: Choose one of the following registrations. Select "Subscriber" and click "Continue."
  • Step 2: Please enter the following:
    • User Name (your seven to ten-character identifier that you selected when you registered the first time, such as "susanna," "ericlee," "janedoe").
    • ID Number (the nine-digit number - usually the subscriber's Social Security number - without hyphens).
    • Click "Continue."
  • Step 3: Provide the answer to your security question. The question that you selected at registration will automatically appear on the screen. Type in your one-word answer and click "Continue."
  • If you completed Steps 2 and 3 correctly, you will see a message stating that Delta Dental has sent your password to the e-mail address you provided at online registration.
  • If you provide an incorrect User Name, ID Number or answer to the security question, you will be notified that the process is unsuccessful and advised to contact Concurrent Technologies' Help Desk at 888-783-5750.

The system said my password was e-mailed to me after completing the Forgot Password process, but I never received it. What happened?

We probably have an incorrect e-mail address for you in the system. Benefits Connection uses the e-mail address that you supplied at the time you registered. To verify your e-mail address, contact Concurrent Technologies' Help Desk at 888-783-5750.

How do I change my password?

  • Click "Change Password/E-mail" at the bottom of the Benefits Connection Logon box.
  • Enter your:
    • User Name (your seven to ten-character identifier that you selected when you registered the first time, such as "susanna," "ericlee," "janedoe")
    • Old Password (the seven to ten-character password selected when you originally registered)
    • New Password (the new seven to ten-character password)
    • Re-enter New Password
  • Click "Submit."
  • You will see an onscreen notice stating that your Change Password entry was successful.
  • You will return to the Benefits Connection Logon screen, where you may now log on using your User Name and new Password.

How do I change my e-mail address?

  • Click "Change Password/E-mail" at the bottom of the Benefits Connection Logon box.
  • Enter your:
    • User Name (your seven to ten-character identifier that you selected when you registered the first time, such as "susanna," "ericlee," "janedoe")
    • Old Password (the seven to ten-character password selected when you originally registered)
    • New e-mail address
  • Click "Submit."
  • You will see an onscreen notice stating that your Change E-mail entry was successful.
  • You will return to the Benefits Connection Logon screen, where you may now log on using your User Name and Password.

What type of information is available through Benefits Connection?

  • A complete explanation of eligibility and coordination of benefits for members and their covered dependents
  • A description of the member's Delta Dental plan
  • Details on the types of services covered
  • Percentage covered for each service
  • Any applicable deductibles and waiting periods
  • Explanations of any maximums and age limitations
  • Frequency schedule
  • Procedure code search

Where can I get additional help?

The first step is to read any message that pops up on the screen and follow those directions. If you still need assistance:

  • Contact Delta Dental's Customer Service Department at 800-452-9310 for problems with information found (or not found) in Benefits Connection (i.e., coverage issues).
  • Contact Concurrent Technologies' Help Desk at 888-783-5750 for technical problems with Benefits Connection (i.e., registration or password issues).
