DELTA DENTAL OF NEW JERSEY RAISES $47,000 FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS NEW JERSEY

PARSIPPANY, NJ (August 2009)

The Nineteenth Annual Delta Dental Classic took place this year at Fiddler's Elbow Country Club in Bedminster, NJ to benefit Special Olympics New Jersey (SONJ). Participants hit the links for a good cause, as SONJ provides sports training and athletic competitions to adults and children with intellectual disabilities. 

This year, the Delta Dental Classic raised $47,000 for SONJ. Since its inaugural year in 1991, the Delta Dental Classic has raised more than $700,000 for SONJ and plans to continue the effort. 

"The range of programs offered by SONJ is exceptional, and Delta Dental of New Jersey is proud to be able to run the outing to benefit SONJ," said Walt Van Brunt, President and CEO of Delta Dental of New Jersey. "We would like to extend a special thank you to all of our participants and sponsors for this event."

SONJ programs are free to registered athletes including insurance, facilities, equipment, uniforms, housing, and meals for events, awards, sports, education and more. In addition to programs offered on the local, county, sectional, and state levels, Special Olympics New Jersey offers athletes free participation in all activities at the Special Olympics New Jersey Sports Complex in Lawrenceville.
