Delta Dental of New Jersey Celebrates Dental Health Awareness Day

Delta Dental of New Jersey (DDNJ) is partnering with UMDNJ-New Jersey Dental School and Hudson County Dental Society to celebrate Children’s Dental Health Awareness Day on Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Liberty Science Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Volunteers from these organizations will be on hand to assist with this educational event.

The day’s activities include interactive learning stations teaching the importance of good oral health, carnival-style games, educational programs for pre-schoolers through teens, dental-related arts and crafts, a hands-on dental laboratory, an “Ask the Dentist” station, as well as visits from Captain Supertooth, DDNJ’s oral health crusader, and the Tooth Fairy!

Over 3,000 children and their families are expected to visit Liberty Science Center and take part in the interactive activities planned for the day, which hopes to raise awareness of the importance of good oral health through improved oral hygiene, preventive measures, and good nutrition.

Tickets can be purchased at Liberty Science Center the day of the event. For museum directions and hours, visit its Web site at www.lsc.org.
