Delta Dental Associates Volunteer to Help the Boy Scouts!

On Thursday, November 8, 2007 13 Delta Dental associates ventured down to Berlin, New Jersey to help the Boy Scouts in South Jersey obtain a Dentistry merit badge. Many of the Delta Dental volunteers were former dental assistants.

We all gathered in the Mess Hall at the South Jersey Boy Scout Camp facility, and seven stations were set up all pertaining to the required oral health topics. At the end of the day, about 35 Boy Scouts learned a lot about dental health, teeth, and dental careers. Some of the stations required the boys to do some work prior to the day. Some of the work involved talking to a dentist and creating a poster about oral health.

The day got some great press coverage as well. Cameramen from ABC and NBC TV news stations (Philadelphia affiliates) stopped by and filmed parts of the day, which aired later that evening.
