If you’re like most of us, managing paperwork is a painful chore. Fortunately, with Delta Dental you can say good-bye to the paper when managing your dental benefits. Here’s how:

Use a participating dentist. Not only do you get the most value for your benefits when you see a network dentist, but it also cuts paperwork. Your participating dentist, not you, files the claim with Delta Dental. There’s no need for you to fill out claim forms, address envelopes or lick stamps. Your participating dentist probably will send the claim electronically or online, which eliminates paperwork for your dentist, too. To find a participating dentist near you, go to www.deltadentalnj.com, hover over “Members” on the left navigation bar, and click “Find a Dentist.”

Track your EOBs online. EOBs are Explanation of Benefits, the statements you receive after treatment that shows what the dentist did, what the dentist billed, how much we paid the dentist, and your out-of-pocket expense. You should always check that the EOB is correct. Plus, you need the EOB if you participate in a pretax medical savings account for reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses. But, you don’t need to save your paper EOBs because that information is available in Benefits Connection. Benefits Connection provides complete information about dental claims filed on behalf of you and your dependents. To find information about your family’s dental claims, go to www.deltadentalnj.com, hover over “Members” on the left navigation bar, click “Benefits Connection,” and log on. Then click the “Claims Inquiry” icon to view your claims information.
