Nineteen Delta Dental employees, plus their friends and families, participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer fundraising walkathon on Sunday, October 17, in Parsippany, New Jersey. The team raised $3,113 for the American Cancer Society. Delta Dental contributed an additional $3,000 to the fight against breast cancer.
Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer in women. A woman has a one in seven chance of developing breast cancer during her lifetime, according to the American Cancer Society. Survival rates have increased steadily since the mid 1970s, thanks in part to research conducted by the American Cancer Society and other organizations.
