Fraud Placard Appearing in Many Dental Offices

Patients do not always understand why dental offices cannot make seemingly minor changes to claims in order to maximize their benefits. It can create an uncomfortable situation for dental office personnel when a patient asks them to do so. To help dental offices inform patients, Delta Dental created a fraud placard for posting in dental offices.

The placard reads, "It is a federal and state crime to intentionally give false information to any insurance company. Please do not ask us to do so. Proud to participate with Delta Dental Plan of New Jersey."

The fraud placard is being mailed to participating dentists shortly.
