Dental Trivia

Presidential Cover-Up
More than 100 years ago, President Grover Cleveland discovered a cancerous growth on his upper jaw. In 1893, the country was in the middle of an international monetary crisis. To prevent his illness from causing further panic, Cleveland arranged for doctors to operate on him in secret, aboard a pleasure boat in the middle of New York's East River. The public thought he was on a fishing trip. The truth finally came out in 1917, nine years after Cleveland's death.
