Delta Dental ID Card Just a Click Away

Do your employees know they can print a Delta Dental ID card directly from their computer? Although we don’t require ID cards, many dental offices ask for them.

To print an ID card, visit our Web site at www.deltadentalnj.com and click “Members.” Then log into Benefits Connection, the secure area of our Web site. Click the icon on the top left of the screen to print the card. The ID card includes the employee’s name, group number, and the Delta Dental program in which they are enrolled.

This feature is available to all members except those enrolled in Delta Dental Patient Direct and DeltaCare.

Sidebar: Flyer Tells Your Employees How to Print Delta Dental ID Cards

Tired of employees asking you for a replacement Delta Dental ID card? We’ve created a flyer to help! The flyer explains step-by-step how your employees can download and print their Delta Dental ID card from their computers.

You can photocopy and post the flyer on employee bulletin boards, or attach it to people's paychecks. You can even e-mail it to people, or post it on your intranet. The flyer contains everything our members need to know to print their Delta Dental ID card.

To download your free flyer, visit our Web site at www.deltadentalnj.com; click "Employers" and "ID Card Flyer" in the “Document Download” section.

Delta Dental Offers Enhanced EOB Statements

Our new Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statement is presented in a readable, user-friendly format. Developed in consultation with members and dentists, it contains more information than before and has been reformatted to make it easier for members to find what they need.

The new EOB statement includes all the features of the old EOB, plus a few new ones, including the patient’s benefit period and the amount the patient is not responsible for.

To view a sample of our new EOB and its features, visit our Web site at www.deltadentalnj.com. Click “Members,” then “View an easy-to-read description of our Explanation of Benefits Statement” under “Additional Resources.”

For questions about specific claims, contact the number for Claims Inquiries on your Explanation of Benefits statement, or log on to Benefits Connection and use the secure “Contact Customer Service” form.

Thanks for Participating in Our Survey!

More than 370 benefits managers responded to our 2007 Benefits Manager Survey. To everyone who shared their thoughts with us, thank you!

Among the key findings:

  • Nearly 99% would recommend Delta Dental to other benefits administrators.
  • The most important attributes of a dental benefits program are employee satisfaction and ease of administering the program.
  • More than 98% said the time they spend administering Delta Dental benefits is the “amount of time expected” or “less than expected.”
  •  We received highly positive marks (“excellent,” “above average” or “average”) in all key areas, including:

    o Ability to locate a network dentist—nearly 99%
    o Ease of program administration—more than 98%
    o Speed of claims processing—more than 99%
    o Accuracy of claims processing—more than 99%
    o Overall value of program—more than 99%

An invitation to participate in the online survey was mailed in September to all benefits managers in New Jersey and Connecticut. Results are within plus or minus 4.6%. English Communications, an independent consulting firm, administered the survey and evaluated the results. The annual survey is used to assess our performance, identify specific areas for development, and determine how to better meet our groups’ needs.

How Our Associates Help in Community

Making Strides against Breast Cancer
Delta Dental, our associates and friends raised more than $12,000 for the American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides against Breast Cancer” walk on October 21 in Parsippany. Team Delta Dental fielded 44 walkers and raised $6,180. Delta Dental matched those donations for a total donation of $12,360.

This is the fourth year that Delta Dental associates participated in the five-kilometer fundraising walk. In that time, associates and Delta Dental raised $35,805 for the American Cancer Society. Contributions support the American Cancer Society's lifesaving research, prevention, early detection, and support programs for thousands of patients and their families.

Coat Drive
Associates donated eight large bags of warm winter coats to the Market Street Mission to give to the less fortunate in Morristown, New Jersey. The Market Street Mission ministers to the homeless, helpless, and hopeless in northern New Jersey by meeting their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs through a structured program which enables them to lead responsible, productive lives.
