How to Get Credentialed
Without Going Crazy!
DeltaCare is
just one of many dental health plans finding it
necessary to maintain current, verified information
regarding their network dentists.
There are several
ways of doing this - some carriers elect to receive
and maintain all the data in-house. DeltaCare utilizes
the services of a company called CreDentals,
based in southern California. CreDentals has a
national clientele, and a comprehensive databank
and verification process. CreDentals provides forms,
follow up services and continuous reports covering
all of the information we require to be compliant
with credential standards established by the National
Committee for Quality Assurance, a non-profit
organization which accredits managed care organizations.
DeltaCare also
devotes the time of their own Credentialing
Analyst to be the facilitator between our dentists
and CreDentals, offering assistance in forwarding
data, follow up, resolutions of any problems, and
acting as liaison to DeltaCare management as well.
Although CreDentals
collects and organizes this data, DeltaCare makes
all decisions concerning dentist participation
in our network, including all aspects of the credentialing
process.
DeltaCare requires
our dentists to be fully credentialed every two
years, on the second anniversary of their DeltaCare
completion date. Many dentists may have responded
to CreDentals on behalf of other carriers on varying
dates, but our cycle corresponds to the date DeltaCare
received complete information, not another carrier.
