Business Analyst and Senior Business Analyst

Summary: Both the Business Analyst and the Senior Business Analyst position have the primary responsibility to elicit, analyze, validate, specify, verify, and manage the real needs of the project stakeholders, as well as customers and end users. The positions have a main focus to document requirements; analyze business needs, and current business process, while acting as a conduit between the customer community and the development team. These positions require the ability to work cohesively with all stakeholders, including senior management, end users, testers, and developers.

Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

Qualifications: The Business Analyst position requires the person to display a courteous, pleasant and cooperative attitude and a spirit of teamwork and be results oriented. This candidate must possess an Associates’ degree or three year’s experience or prior knowledge/experience with Delta Dental of NJ or an organization utilizing similar process and procedures. The Senior Business Analyst position requires all of the requirements above and five+ years experience along with proven mastery of core business analysis competencies and corresponding skills. Candidate will be required to exhibit knowledge of business processes and proven leadership skills.

Business Intelligence Developer

Summary: The BI Developer develops Business Objects/SQL-based Operational and ad-hoc reports for DDNJ’s stakeholders, both internally and externally. This position requires an individual that can understand, translate and deliver reporting solutions for the DDNJ community. This position has an active role in the continuous development of the department’s practices and procedures, and has responsibility to advance and promote quality systems. Equally as important is this role’s interface with internal and external business owners to understand requirements, suggest solutions, troubleshoot problems and encourage reusability and standardization in support of the DDNJ business reporting needs.

Education/Experience/Personal Requirements: This position requires an associate degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and/or the ability to demonstrate the desired analysis and report development skills having two to three years experience. Health care or other relevant industry experience is preferred.

System Analyst

Summary: This position will support technology project implementations. The primary responsibility of this position is to convert business requirements and project concepts into technical design and technical requirement specifications. More specifically, the System Analyst contributes to the software development lifecycle by collaborating with project team members both technical and non-technical to solidify requirements, perform technical analysis, lead design specifications, and assists developers in implementing to specifications.

Skills and Knowledge Requirements: This person must have a solid technical background in application development, strong analytical ability, good communication skills and be comfortable translating business requirements into technical documentation. The two primary systems supported will be a claims processing system utilizing a Visual Basic, .Net/SQL Server architecture and an Enterprise Data Warehouse utilizing Microsoft SQL Server 2008 with standard ETL processes. Additional third-party and smaller internal systems will also need to be understood from an architecture and implementation perspective, although to a lesser degree. This position requires an Associate Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and/or at least 5 years of relevant experience. Health care or other relevant industry experience is preferred. The 5 years of experience should preferably be with - SQL Server and Visual Basic, .NET technologies. Understanding of infrastructure and familiarity with Citrix Server, ODBC and ETL frameworks will be strongly preferred.

Health Care Reform - Product Development Project Manager

Summary: This position will serve as a focal point for managing DDNJ’s internal process to review proposed and final guidance and rules to inform efforts to frame health reform, identify risks and opportunities and other impacts to the organization from these efforts, and to drive implementation and operational initiatives and other changes needed to the business in the post-reform environment. The candidate will provide DDNJ’s management team with, support, guidance, and coordination in the prioritization, and business implications of standards and regulations and other guidance emerging as a result of the PPACA. This will include periodic attendance at meetings with decision-makers in New Jersey, Connecticut, New York City and potentially other venues as required.

Working with other members of DDNJ’s management team, the project manager will collaborate with the strategies and initiatives of the Delta Dental system through work within the formal committee and task force structures, as well as on an ad hoc basis when needs and opportunities arise. The PM will also work with DDNJ’s Project Management Office (PMO) to manage projects and initiatives related to health care reform, as well as identify and secure the resources needed to complete implementation tasks. Must have experience in drafting technical business requirements documents and a strong understanding of health care exchange transactions and information systems architecture.

Job Specific: Previous government health affairs experience, health insurance operations knowledge and project management experience, including the preparation of technical business requirements documents and the ability to evaluate information systems architecture. Product development, management and marketing skills, as well as preparation of health insurance policies and related contracts. Must be proficient using MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Account Manager

Summary: The Account Manager serves as the primary business contact for assigned clients and is responsible for client satisfaction and retention. The Account Manager is expected to consistently provide excellent customer service to accounts, as well as represent client needs and goals within the organization to ensure quality. In addition, the Account Manager should build relationships with clients and brokers to encourage new and repeat business opportunities.

Requirements: This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Marketing, or related field and/or 3 to 5 years of account management experience. Experience should include creating, maintaining and enhancing customer and broker relationships. Customer knowledge, selling skills, and the ability to execute and build effective relationships are required. Health care or other relevant industry experience is preferred. A high level of maturity and expertise in the area of business and financial, strategic and organizational planning are necessary. The candidate will be required to have an active Health Insurance License. The requirements include the ability to be highly organized and the ability to handle multiple priorities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required and the candidate must be detailed oriented. The ability to work in a team environment, excellent leadership, facilitation, strategic thinking, problem solving, decision making, sound and accurate judgment, negotiation and analytical skills are required. The candidate also must have a broad knowledge of business functions, ability to influence, motivate and lead team members from various departments to meet agreement.

Any combination of academic education, professional training or work experience, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, will be considered. A valid NJ Drivers’ License and ability to visit clients/brokers is required.
